Selection process

Student selection will be made by means of an in-person public access test. Those interested, as shown in their enrolment form, will be able to carry out the test by videoconference without attending the school.

Registration

Registration dates: from 19 February to 3 June 2018

Interested candidates must complete the registration form and send a copy of their national identity card or Passport and a copy of their academic record for the degree required to access official Masters programme studies, either to the Musikene postal address, or by email to master@musikene.eus

Auditions

Date: 18 in the morning (double bass), 21 in the morning (viola) and in the afternoon (violin) and 22 in the morning (cello) June 2018. Each candidate will receive their timetable when enrolling.

Structure:

1) Performance of a free repertoire* with the instrument (maximum 20 minutes).

2) Sight-reading test from the orchestral repertoire of the instrument.

Grading: Test 1: 80% / Test 2: 20%

* Works requiring them should be performed with an accompanist and the candidates will be able to bring their own partner. Musikene will supply accompanying musicians for those candidates who request it in the registration form and pay the corresponding charges for this service.

The judges’ panel will be made up of three teachers, specialized in the instruments under examination. There will also be a participant from the Basque National Orchestra.

If spaces remain vacant Musikene may call for a new selection process in September, which will be announced at the end of July on the Musikene website.

Access requirements

To be in possession of an official qualification in higher arts education, an official qualification or graduate degree or its equivalent from an institution of the European Higher Education Area or to finish the studies of the aforementioned qualification during the 2017/2018 academic year.

Likewise, students may also access the course with qualifications from educational systems outside the European Higher Education prior checking by the competent educational administration that they show an equivalent level of training.

Presentation of the qualification (or the receipt for payment of the rights to it) will be required upon enrolment. Those students who are currently undertaking the final year may submit this documentation at the end of it. In the latter case, such documentation should be submitted by October 15, 2018.
